Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy

"EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal.  EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma" 

Emotion Focused Therapy

"EFT is a structured approach to couples therapy formulated in the 1980’s and has developed alongside the science on adult attachment and bonding to expand our understanding about what is happening in couple relationships and to guide therapists. In the last fifteen years, Dr. Johnson and her colleagues have further developed and refined the model and completed numerous studies. EFT is also used with families and individuals. A substantial body of research outlining the effectiveness of EFT now exists. Research studies find that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvements."


"BSP makes use of this natural phenomenon through its use of relevant eye positions. This helps the BSP therapist locate, focus, process and release a wide range of emotionally and bodily-based conditions. BSP is also a brain-based tool to support the therapy relationship. We believe that BSP taps into and harnesses the body’s natural self-scanning, self-healing ability. When a Brainspot is stimulated, the deep brain appears to reflexively signal the therapist that the source of the problem has been found. BSP can also be used to find and strengthen our natural resources and resilience."

Accelerated Resolution Therapy

"ART incorporates a combination of techniques used in many other traditional psychotherapies. ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. ART accomplishes this through the use of rapid eye movements similar to eye movements that occur during dreaming. Although techniques similar to these are used in other types of therapies, ART’s very specific and directive approach can achieve rapid recovery from symptoms and reactions that may have been present for many years." 

My Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that anyone can change how they feel. I know that it is all about the data that we store in our brains and how we interact with that data on an emotional basis. My educational background is in neuroscience and social work. My goal is to use my understanding of the brain and therapy to help you heal in the most effective way possible. I understand that as we grow and experience our environment, our brains grow and change with us, this is what shapes my practice.

My specialty is working with individuals and couples living with chronic pain and illness, depression, grief, and neurodiversity. I am a compassionate therapist who wants to help my clients meet their goals. I know that by individualizing therapeutic treatment and meeting you where you are, emotionally, I can help you heal.


I have advanced training in utilizing EMDR therapy. In addition, I use Accelerated Resolution Therapy, EFT, Brainspotting, DBT skills, and mindfulness-based techniques to help my clients facilitate change. Utilizing these therapeutic methods, I have seen that people can rediscover themselves, and improve their ability to fully engage in their lives. I believe that you can do the same.
